On April 21th Prince was found dead. A musical genius of course but also an artist who is strongly associated with his visual appearance. His big break-through with the Purple Rain-album was accompanied with the film and together they made a powerful packaged. Prince (multi-talented as he was) directed the music video for the song “When doves cry”. A “movie”-music video as it uses footage from the Purple Rain-film. But it is also visually creative. The mirror-effect in the final parts where actually cool in the early days of MTV.
