Fuse ODG’s respond to Band Aid 30

Bob Geldof’s project with a new “Do they know it’s Christmas” have been met with several questioning. Now artist Fuse ODG have released a video “Letter to TINA” which starts with a statement that he don’t think the message of “Do they know…” was in line with the message of the new African movement. TINA stands for This Is New Africa. Other artists for example Adele has also declined being a part of Band Aid 30. Though the purpose was good, it’s obvious that taking on the old song wasn’t such a great idea. Nether the less you can’t deny the impact of the original version, and the title, which of course shouldn’t be read literally, was when it came a perfect sting into the western societies Christmas-gluttony. We spend, spend and spend – while people are starving
