Nicki Minaj & Co is playing with the devil. In the lyric video Nicki Minaj & Co used nazi-inspired visual symbols. And in the “regular” video they manage to be controversial in another way by showing severe S&M-ingredients. Interesting to watch the lyric video after you’ve seen the regular, because it makes you want to understand the lyrics. How relevant is the visual content with regards to the lyrics. Not crystal clear.

This also leads into the most relevant question of what is enlightening and thoughtful content and what is pure provocation and disrespect. Of course different groups has different opinions but when world artists like Nicki Minaj & Co publishes a video they must reflect on the possible reactions.

From a development perspective it´s better to be bold and try the limits then to be afraid and play it safe.
